Donate a Pad | April 2021

#DonateAPad - An Initiative was done by Project Promise along with AAN charitable trust at Kavita Bisht's women support home to help underprivileged women and girls of Kashipur to maintain their dignity, self-esteem & confidence. 

Our team distributed Dignity kits in an environmentally friendly manner & increased awareness among adolescent girls on Menstrual Hygiene.

With your support, we were able to give every woman a better health they deserve. Our Dignity kits contained hygiene and sanitary items, explicitly tailored towards the local needs of women and girls during menstruation.
Our dignity kits contained -

- One packet of sanitary pads
- One two-liter water bottle
- One soap
- Jaggery & Chickpeas. 
We dedicated this entire campaign towards providing dignity kits to the underprivileged women with our #DonateAPad campaign.

We want to remind everyone that periods are normal and nothing to be ashamed of. Every woman deserves access to safe and clean menstrual hygiene.

We all may know that menstruation is a natural part of the reproductive cycle, but some underprivileged women may not realize that it is important due to the lack of information about menstrual hygiene.

With the help of this campaign, we urged everyone to help us in educating every woman about their menstrual health and hygiene.

Highlights of the program-  * 105 Women Beneficiaries from 15 self help groups were provided Dignity Kits - Menstrual hygiene kits. 

* Iron and folic acid supplements were distributed 

* Sensitisation to break the taboos associated with Periods and sustainable ways of managing them.
* Counselling on COVID 19 safety protocols. Face masks were also distributed to all participants.

In order to raise funds for this campaign, a crowdfunding project was done by Anaiya through Impactguru. 
The amount of Rs 24,505 raised by this campaign was used to purchase and distribute dignity kits. We sincerely thank all of you for your gracious donation for #DonateAPad.
